SOAR Neighborhood Picnic

Earlier this month, the Southeast Organized Area Residents or SOAR, as they are better known, welcomed over 200 neighborhood residents and community members to its second annual neighborhood picnic at Southeast Park.  Whether it was the hot dogs or the lovely unseasonably warm weather or the climbing wall, the result was a day of celebrating neighbors, learning new information and encouraging folks to participate in the SOAR neighborhood association.  In addition to information tables, SB Venues, Parks & Arts was there to officially recognize a neighborhood art installation in the park and Suzanna Fritzberg , the Mayor’s Deputy Chief of Staff was on hand to help SOAR president Conrad Damian honor several neighbors who have each lived in the neighborhood for 40 years or more. NRC was one of many sponsors helping to make the day a success.  If you live in the neighborhood, SOAR invites you to become part of the neighborhood association which meets on the second Tuesday monthly, 6:00 p.m. at Broadway Christian Parish (corner of Broadway and Carrol Streets).
