Neighborhood Leadership Academy Workshops

To complement our full Neighborhood Leadership Academy, NRC also offers periodic workshops. These free workshops will help neighborhood leaders, community organizers, or any interested residents learn more about strengthening their South Bend neighborhoods.

No application required, though RSVPs may be requested.

Learn about Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts, what Community Development Corporations (CDCs) are and how they differ from neighborhood associations, and how federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds can benefit your local community. City Budget Process

Learn about the City of South Bend’s budget process and how you can have a voice in setting the city’s financial priorities. County Tax & Certificate Sales

“Good Neighbor” Law

This workshop will separate fact from fiction regarding municipal ordinances, state statues, and other legal principles. Legal experts will discuss such topics as nuisance, the Indiana “Good Samaritan” law, and more.
