Free workshop on “Good Neighbor Law” – Thursday, Oct. 18.

The Neighborhood Resources Connection’s 2018 Neighborhood Leadership Academy Workshop series continues with a workshop on Good Neighbor Law.

The free workshop will be held on Thursday, October 18 at 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Holobyn Meeting Room, SJC Public Library Tutt Branch, 2223 Miami St.

This workshop will separate fact from fiction regarding municipal ordinances, state statues, and other legal principles. Legal experts will discuss such topics as nuisance, the Indiana “Good Samaritan” law, and more. Information will also be provided on how you might contact an attorney if you need help resolving specific legal issues. Co-sponsored by the Volunteer Lawyer Network.

About the Neighborhood Leadership Academy 2018 Workshop Series

This series of four free workshops helps neighborhood leaders, community organizers, or any interested residents learn more about strengthening their South Bend neighborhoods. The series kicked off in July with a free workshop on the City’s Budget Process.

Upcoming workshops will include:

  • The Alphabet Soup of Community Development: TIFs, CDCs, and CDBGs – Thursday, Nov. 15, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., SJC Public Library LaSalle Branch Meeting Room at 3232 W Ardmore Tr. (rescheduled from October, 2018).
