Free Workshop Nov. 15: the Alphabet Soup of Community Development

The Neighborhood Resources Connection’s 2018 Neighborhood Leadership Academy Workshop series continues with a workshop on The Alphabet Soup of Community Development.

The free workshop will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the LaSalle Branch Meeting Room, SJC Public Library, 3232 W Ardmore Tr.

Interested in how neighborhood improvement programs are funded? Learn about Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts, what Community Development Corporations (CDCs) are and how they differ from neighborhood associations, and how federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds can benefit your local community.

About the Neighborhood Leadership Academy Workshop Series

This series of free workshops helps neighborhood leaders, community organizers, or any interested residents learn more about strengthening their South Bend neighborhoods. The Fall 2018 series kicked off in July with a free workshop on the City’s Budget Process.
